The inaugural NRL Asian Workshop on Quality 2017 was held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia on February 27-28, 2017.
NRL was exceptionally pleased to have up to 200 participants from 17 countries attend this newly introduced Workshop. Speakers from laboratories, non-government agencies and industry all shared their perspectives on quality in infectious diseases testing. Topics included challenges for blood services in Asia, the journey to accreditation, QC, EQAS and additional subjects relevant to blood screening and/or diagnostic testing. This Workshop was specifically designed to host many regional speakers from Asia sharing their experiences and discussing commonly encountered challenges. This sharing of information through discussion and the incorporation of group activities was well received by those in attendance.
Feedback from delegates praised the Workshop venue, quality of presentations delivered and organisation of the event with all confirming the Workshop met their expectations. Direct feedback from attendees was that the two day event was very enlightening and enjoyable.NRL would like to thank all speakers featured in the Workshop for committing their time and sharing their expertise and experience on Quality.
NRL is especially grateful to sponsors Abbott, Grifols, Cepheid, DiaSorin and Alere who wholeheartedly supported the initiative, particularly in its infancy. We look forward to working with these supporters again in the future for similarly organised Workshops.
